#Rocktober 30 volume 19: Music on Clinton street

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Another Rocktober night, another dinner. I headed to Clinton’s with Allegra. I enjoyed her company, she enjoyed the hockey. Also, goat cheese.

#Rocktober 30 volume 18: Road trip to Ethiopia

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Yay! I saw Laurie at Dirty Bingo, and we made plans for volume 18. He, Kelly, and I went out for Ethiopian at this tasty tasty place on Church, south of Dundas. The food was excellent, even though the service was slow. In addition, it was dirt cheap. Even better, I got to hang out with Laurie and Kelly, and I never seem to see those two people. Then I walked home. These blog posts are getting shorter.

#Cocktober 30 volume 17: Dirty Bingo

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Went to Dirty Bingo at Zelda’s last night. Drank lots of beer, had a few laughs. My table even won a few prizes. They were dirty!

#Rocktober 30 volume 16: Dum Dum Girls

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Went to see The Dum Dum Girls at Lee’s Palace. I’m glad I didn’t take my camera with me, as both the Crocodiles and Dum Dum Girls decided not to use lights, and instead projected patterns of light on stage. Any pic would’ve looked like shit. When I got there, I found Mechanical Forest Joe ((Joe, I’m calling you this now.)) was there, too, as usual. I had someone to chat with, and it’s someone awesome. The opener came out in a lovely dress, but that was the highlight of the… Read More »#Rocktober 30 volume 16: Dum Dum Girls

#Rocktober 30 volume 15: ZZZZZZ

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Went out for brunch to The Old Nick. Yes I’m there constantly. I was poaching their internet, as I wait for Bell to get their shit together (post coming when it’s resolved). I had the Mac & Cheese. So good, not as good as Cari’s. I got home around 6, and immediately fell asleep. Slept until 9 am. Second best day of #Rocktober (Wild Flag’s still on top).

#Rocktober 30 volume 14: Rob Benvie, Matt Murphy, Different Skeletons, and Queen’s Park

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Last night I went to a weird alley in Kensington which in turn led to a staircase up to a strange bar I’ve never been in.  It was a packed house where Rob Benvie of Thrush Hermit fame was to be reading from his new novel. I didn’t quite understand why the place was so packed, but I quickly found Natalia and Tim and hung out with those two for a while. After hanging around for a while, we spotted Val, in the audience, and chatted with her. Turns out… Read More »#Rocktober 30 volume 14: Rob Benvie, Matt Murphy, Different Skeletons, and Queen’s Park

#Rocktober 30 volume 13: iOS 5

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. I upgraded to iOS 5, and spent much of the time playing with new features, and found out that you can now customize text-tones, something I’ve been wanting for quite some time. I made a couple new text-tones, one is the QUACK from the System 7 sound set, the other is the sound made in Super Mario Bros. when one collects a coin. Okay, this was a cop-out Rocktober event… sue me. Bitches!

#Rocktober 30 volume 12: Vincey!

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Ate tasty food at the Nick with Vince. We shared nachos and jalapeño poppers, so fucking tasty.

#Rocktober 30 volume 11: Wild Flag

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Ahh, Wild Flag. I’ve been waiting for this. This is the one event I was truly waiting for. The other events were/will be okay, but man this was… this was… THIS WAS ROCKTOBER!

#Rocktober 30 volume 10: Monsters, Inc.

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Yesterday I joined the Millers and we continued our year-long (so far) Pixar marathon. So far we’ve watched Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, and Toy Story 2. Last night was Monsters, Inc.! For those who don’t know, the film is about a factory of monsters who gather energy by scaring children. Sully, the top scarer, accidentally lets in a child. The film is about the relationship between the two characters and Sully’s sidekick Mike. It’s hilarious, and adorable, and so much fun. Then we ate pie.
