Doctor Who Story 220 – Night Terrors

If you’re wondering where Torchwood series 4 is, I’m watching in order by air date, and while most of series 4 has aired, the last few episodes were aired between the start of the back half of this Doctor Who series. I’ll probably be finishing Torchwood right after this episode, so it’s definitely coming next, and also, expect it soon. Oh god, a child calling out to the Doctor. Ugh. This episode is already pissing me off and we’re only 6 minutes in. Yup, still annoyed at the end of the episode.

Doctor Who Story 219 – Let’s Kill Hitler

Prequel So is the Doctor ever going to tell her that she’s going to never be a mom to River? Let’s Kill Hitler It’s so creepy that Mels has idolized the Doctor long before she married him. Their security system is terrible. Oh River. I like the Doctor’s love of young Amelia Pond. Doctor Who monsters need to stop announcing their intention to kill.

Doctor Who Story 218 – A Good Man Goes to War

Prequel They’re imprisoning a child? A Good Man Goes To War Let’s talk about the title of this episode. Do they actually think he’s a good man? He isn’t. They’re trying to make Rory a bad ass, but he ain’t a bad ass. Even as “the last centurion.” I like Alex Kingston. Moffat has this bad habit of half-introducing something and thinking it’s good enough. And he does it so much in this episode. Oh, okay, they acknowledge that he is not a good man. That’s more self-awareness than I expect from Moffat. Get in the fucking TARDIS, Amy and Melody.

Doctor Who Story 217 – The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People

The Rebel Flesh It should be stated that Matt Smith’s era of Doctor Who looks a lot better than David Tennant’s. It’s Chris from Life on Mars… a show he’s in with the Master! That gif is reminding me of when the Doctor had an electric guitar. Not looking forward to that. We need more Dusty Springfield. This is a very cliched Doctor Who story. It feels like it would fit as a boring Jon Pertwee story. He keeps on saying cocarell. This concept has potential, but Star Trek: The Next Generation did that with two Rikers. The Almost People Jesus, Doctor, why are you attacking Amy? Oh my god!… Read More »Doctor Who Story 217 – The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People

Doctor Who Story 216 – The Doctor’s Wife

The guy who plays Uncle is doing the same voice as Robin in Ghosts. I just finished watching all of Ghosts. It’s a great show. Hooray for establishing in canon that Time Lords can regenerate into other genders. I like the TARDIS and calling the Doctor her thief. “You’re a bitey mad lady.” The Doctor does bring home strays. I love the rapport between Matt Smith and Suranne Jones. How come Idris has a real name?

Doctor Who Story 214 – The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon

Space That’s really gross that the entire purpose of this skit for a children’s show is to talk about Amy’s genitalia. What is wrong with Moffat? Time Part two is less creepy and gross, but still creepy and gross. Prequel Nixon’s an asshat, but this guy doesn’t sound like Nixon. The Impossible Astronaut Aww, it’s in memory of Elisabeth Sladen. I don’t get why Amy and Rory are suddenly living in England and not traveling with the Doctor. Nice that Arthur Darvill gets into the opening titles. So the Doctor is traveling for 200 years without Amy and Rory, and then he comes back for them? That seems so unlike… Read More »Doctor Who Story 214 – The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon

Doctor Who Story 213 – A Christmas Carol

A TARDIS Tea Party Time for another Children in Need special. I don’t expect this to be as good as “Time Crash.” *don’t make snide comments about children, Adam* This is really nice that they did this, but silly that they filmed it. Aww, the kid had a small stumble down the TARDIS stairs and they aired that. Ugh, bad director. A Christmas Carol Back to Christmas episodes having to be about Christmas. I like that Amy and Rory are into role-play. It’s Dumbledore. The Muppets did this so much better. How great would this be if Statler and Waldorf were in this episode. Finally some Amy and Rory content.… Read More »Doctor Who Story 213 – A Christmas Carol

Doctor Who Story 212 – The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang

The Pandorica Opens River! Yay! Didn’t think I’ve see Liz X again. I like River as Cleopatra. Yar, there be Cybermen! It’s Rory! Because obviously it is, because Doctor Who can’t keep anyone dead. Their deus ex machina of Rory’s appearance is horrible and lazy. But I’m glad he’s back. Amy’s happy to see her dead fiancé, who she forgot about. Why doesn’t River know who Rory is? It’s her dad, she set them up as Mel. The Big Bang Oh it’s wee Amelia Pond! Oh, the Doctor’s wearing a fez. I forgot Amy was dead, and I only watched part one a few hours ago. Rory waiting 2000 years… Read More »Doctor Who Story 212 – The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang

Doctor Who Story 209 – The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood

The Hungry Earth Doctor Who loves stories about digging holes. Someone saying “None of your business” to the Doctor who just wanders in asking random questions. I like that this episode takes place in the past, but it’s 10 years in the future for Rory and Amy. I like people kissing, but don’t kiss your coworkers. Cold Blood I forgot all about Rory being shot. I remember that he disappeared in the crack in the wall, but I forgot about him being shot. Amy forgetting Rory is horrible. So much about this episode I really love, but it doesn’t come together as a memorable episode. It’s about Humanity’s worst, and… Read More »Doctor Who Story 209 – The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood
