#Rocktober 30 volume 30: Bloggers who Brunch

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Once again, the bloggers brunched. There was a lot of food. I provided juice, as I am a Jew. There was much bacon to be had. I’d say “don’t tell my rabbi,” but I don’t have a rabbi. Has anyone else ever noticed that when you want to type “rabbi” you often type “rabbit?” This is a hinderance in my professional life, as I work with a rabbi. Hi Noam.

#Rocktober 30 volume 29: Bow ties are cool

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. It’s my sister’s birthday on Tuesday, and it was my birthday on Wednesday. Every year our birthdays are six days apart. This causes a single celebration of our birthdays. We ate. Mmm. Shira made cupcakes, they were good. Then I went home, and changed. I put on a shirt, a sweater vest, a bow tie, and my Scrabble cuff links (thanks Emily), I also wore pants. I went across the street, and met up with Nat, and we headed to aL’s place. Nat was wearing an excellent scrabble board costume,… Read More »#Rocktober 30 volume 29: Bow ties are cool

#Rocktober 30 volume 28: Dan Mangan

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. There are times I feel that concerts are really just an excuse to see a large group of awesome people. That seems to be exactly what happened last night. Marta took my extra ticket, and while I’ve known that cute Polish doctor for probably 5 or 6 years now, we’ve never actually met in person. It was nice to finally meet her, and she brought along her sister Joanna (who I actually hang out with in person frequently), Jon (Jo’s man), and a friend of Jo I had never met… Read More »#Rocktober 30 volume 28: Dan Mangan

#Rocktober 30 volume 27: Nerds eat sushi

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. I was asked to pick a restaurant and couldn’t think what was in-between my place of employment and their place of employment (another Jewish school). So I went with the sushi place we had one before gone. The three of us ate sushi. It was tasty, even though I really hate that plaza (Sheppard and Bathurst). I had some salmon. I don’t get it. It doesn’t have any taste. Tofu has more taste than salmon. Why would someone want to eat that?

#Rocktober 30 volume 26: Holy shit! I’m 30!

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. My 30th birthday started with me not wanting to get out of bed. As I had to go to work and fix my work computer, which had hardware issues. Sigh. It was a really insane day, and I didn’t really want to do it. I got to work, and got a-fixin’. Didn’t really work. Took the hard drive out, and begun a data transfer to a MacBook, as a temporary solution. I hadn’t originally planned to be at the North Campus that day, but since I was there some of… Read More »#Rocktober 30 volume 26: Holy shit! I’m 30!

#Rocktober 30 volume 25: Coyote Willy’s

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. I used to work at Broadview and Queen. I hated the job, but there were some aspects of that neighbourhood I loved. One of them was a Mexican restaurant called Coyote Willy’s. I would go there all too frequently, and enjoy their veggie burrito. So I went out for dinner with a few of my former coworkers from that Computer-Store-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named (It wasn’t ClickOn), and once again ordered a tasty burrito. SO FUCKING GOOD! I missed them.

iPhone Ringtones

Time for a non-Rocktober post. I’ve made some ringtones for my iPhone, and I thought I’d share. Yes I’m infringing on some copyright with these, but I hope the BBC, Nintendo, Stephin Merritt, Apple, and the TTC will forgive me. #Rocktober 30 volume 23: Canzine

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Went to Canzine. It was fun. Got a copy of Static Zine volume 2, and bought one of Aviva’s killer cookie stuffed cookies. I also bought a present for Violet.

#Rocktober 30 volume 22: Lunchy Lunchy

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Gathered with the Millers (all three) and Wat for lunch. Not much to say about this, other than we ate an exorbitant amount of food. It was tasty. They were awesome. I was still in pain.

#Rocktober 30 volume 21: To Emily’s!

This month I turn 30. To mark such a remarkable event, I’m spending every day of October drenched in awesome-sauce. Emily invited me out for drinks, unfortunately she lives in the middle of nowhere, aka Parkdale, so after I got the “COME ON OVER” text from Emily, I decided to drive. I popped in my car and drove all the way to Parkdale. After exiting my car, I tripped on a piece of an old sign post. There was about 10-15cm of this former signpost protruding from the ground. Fortunately I had something to soften the blow of hitting the pavement, my forehead. I was up in short time and… Read More »#Rocktober 30 volume 21: To Emily’s!
